Reflection

There’s a whisper, somewhere within
A faint call to rise, to be stronger, freer
Vibrations, rumblings, rumors of joy
Of dancing with abandon, ever nearer
Nearer a throne of boundless grace
Ever among us a song of thanks
Gratitude thus expressed – so much less
Than we wish it could be.

With faces to the ground we cry
Desperate to draw close enough for a glance
Holy of Holies, Savior, Friend
Heal our hearts and cleanse our hands
Unworthy to stand before such light
Darkness sees and tries to hide.
A veil torn asunder, eyes watch in wonder
Our Conqueror, Lover, tears down the walls.

Hearts rising, hands wide-open to You
We hold everything up in surrender
Eyes closed, feet dancing to the rhythm
Of ultimate praise to our worthy Defender
Garden-dweller, quiet waters of our soul
Long to meet you, reflect you as a mirror
Reflects the face it most loves to see.
Show us how to reflect Thee.
